I met with a couple of the fine people of Second Life whyroc Slade & ROMSEY Homewood at Sculpt Maps Galore and Homewood’s Sculptorama on a sim named Poecila. Leha and I had some fun with whyroc as he hammed for the camera. He struck poses that Madonna would have been envious of.
As we walked into his shop Sculpt Maps Galore, I asked whyroc “Why did you decide to support Fantasy Faire 2009 and the Relay for Life?” and his reply “I was approached by Rebelmum Slade, and had seen the events in past. I asked Romsey about it and we both said ‘why not?’ it’s a good cause
“
We looked through whyrocs selection of sculpties that are very reasonably priced and FULL PERM! I saw a number of things that I’m going to tell some of my photographer friends about so they can use them as props. Basically whyroc sells parts. And they are good ones. He sells Mer forms like tails etc and human figures, shark and swordfish, and skateboards and various things. If you are an aspiring sculptor you might want to skip the hard part and buy from whyroc. The few Lindens you spend will save you frustrating days of wrestling with sculpt making programs. whyroc has taken all the grief out of it for you if you just want the results.
Actually, whyroc told me that around his sim… The inhabitants use Blender for making sculpties. One of the sculptors Domino Marama, was not present but we went to see his fantastic ufo saucer- classroom named Area 55. whyroc said “Area 55 is home for a group that discusses sculpty creation with Blender and support the scripts.” whyroc’s sculpties are flawlessly smooth so I bet he is a teacher there.
While we were on the saucer we were met by ROMSEY Homewood. She runs Homewood’s Sculptorama, & Seashells of Second Life. Her shop has a number of cool products from an array of Cowboy hats and holster bets, to avatars which are so cute and comedic they deserve a look. There is a Pikachu avatar that Romsey modeled for us. Romsey says “Marvin the paranoid android and Totoro avatars are big sellers”. ROMSEY believes the SL Relay for Life is a great idea and wants to help out all she can. whyroc added ” I think its easy for creators to get walled away in SL.. with reporting for an event like this you really get out there!”. So again… The Fantasy Faire is a win – win situation!
In the corner of ROMSEY’s shop is a collection of seashells that someone my be interested in when gardening their underwater garden or place them on the beach.
Romsey and whyroc showed me the local club named The Green Fairy. It is adorned with original RL art by the owner Vicki martynov. Most of the all-original art has a theme of Faery life. Again meeting some of the best folks in SL… What a great job I have!
