Coming to Kami – Hitoe on the sim named EDO Nihonbashi 01, I was greeted by the two most delightfully charming Mermaids I have met. Sala was dressed as a Mer based on the Japanese Golden Fish. She also sells a Koi Mer. Sala Snook is the owner and builder of the pretty traditional Japanese building which houses her store. The lovely building itself shows her magnificent skill. The building is an “L” shape with a small garden and a secret I will name later. When Sala first came to Second Life there were no Mermaids in the traditional Japanese style. It was important to Sala to have them so she decided to make them herself. And now there are traditional Japanese Mermaids in SL.
Sala and her assistant Xileen Jewell were wearing two of Sala’s Mer avi’s and Mer Aos. Sala’s best items for humans are her Kimonos, Hakama and various Animation overriders. The kimonos are possibly the best I have seen in SL. The quality is quite high. There are two incredible Geisha dances that are available near her Kimonos and Hakamas. The prices of Sala’s products are quite reasonable considering the skill and time that went into her creations. Some of the clothing offerings are unisex and some transferable.
If you try Sala’s AOs you will see that she has a mastery of graceful and natural movements of the body… whether human female, human male, Neko, or Mer. Sala has a low prim Mer aquarium. Sala’s strategy is for quality, not quantity. She has very much to offer though.
Sala says that she has been enjoying Second Life but she is happy that her enjoyments can lead to a contribution of society. That is through her contribution to the Relay for Life, and SL Fantasy Faire 2009.
Sala has combined her knowledge of lovely Japanese clothing, graceful AO design, and avatar design into very pretty Mers. There are twelve Mers available at Kami-Hitoe. The Mermaid AOs are sold separately but this is an advantage because the prices of the avatars are kept lower so you can choose more avis to use with the AOs! The AOs are reasonably priced as well.
Sala also has Neko and Fairy AOs as well to try out in the shop. And check the balcony above your head for a few interesting particle rezzers, clothing, fun poses and other goodies.
Sala and Xileen, being very gracious hosts, anticipated my interest in seeing them as Mermaids in their element. We came to the entrance of the store where a secret opening revealed a beautiful underwater garden where the Mermaids can dance and play among schools of fish, and lounge on shells and in nautilus homes. The Mers did a happy ballet for us and I was overcome with the magic in this beautiful place! Sala gave us a Mermaid serenade as she played an underwater lyre beautifully. I left the garden with a truly happy feeling.
